Practice Listening: Devotions to help you Practice Listening to God

Would you consider that since God made you, knows you, and loves you, that He might have something specific to say to you? The purpose of this daily devotional is to grow deeper in our individual relationships with Christ, to hear and know His voice, and learn to respond. 

This daily devotional is intended to be an on-ramp to a deeper relationship with Jesus. It is intentionally repetitive and simple at the start, reinforcing basic principles of listening to God. As the study progresses, the hope is that each student will be equipped and inspired to grow deeper with Christ. 

Each section of this six-week study is designed with five, short devotions to be completed by the participant on their own during the week. The one-page devotions include a Bible verse, a short teaching, and a response point. Small group discussion questions follow each section and are intended to help participants process core content ideas with the group. 

Starting from the premise that God speaks today, let’s embark together on a journey of listening to God’s voice. As we Practice Listening, we will move from talking to God to speaking with Him. We will learn to recognize His voice, evaluate what we hear from Him with scripture, and learn to respond to Him in obedience.
